He awakens not in a Renaissance courtyard, but in a darkened alleyway behind a record store in New York City — November 30, 1999.

Ezio discovers that Templar influence has grown stronger in the digital age, and that a secret organization known as “The Oracle” — a conglomeration of AI researchers, venture capitalists, and elite hackers — is attempting to upload human consciousness into a simulated world, promising "eternal peace" through control.
Their goal? To recreate the "Harmony of the Ancients" — not through peace, but through total digital subjugation.
Ezio, now a man out of time, finds an unlikely ally: Kai, a 17-year-old hacker and descendant of a forgotten Assassin bloodline (a secret branch hidden in the modern world since the 18th century). Kai, who’s spent years researching old Assassin lore on underground forums, recognizes Ezio from a fragmented video clip from a mysterious 20th-century library archive.
Together, they form a bond — Ezio teaches Kai the Assassin way: stealth, patience, observation, and freedom. Kai teaches Ezio how to use a phone, hack a firewall, and understand "the web".
Act III: The Truth of the Apple
Ezio learns the Apple isn’t just a relic — it’s a neural interface that can hack into people’s thoughts, emotions, and memories. In 1999, it’s resonating with the early internet, amplifying its power.
As the world prepares for the Y2K bug, the Templars plan to exploit the digital chaos — using the Apple to trigger mass psychological manipulation during the global countdown to 2000, making people believe they are safe under control, not freedom.
The final battle takes place on New Year’s Eve, 1999, at the Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball Drop, now a massive media spectacle.
Ezio, dressed in a modified trench coat and jeans, uses parkour to scale buildings, evades drones and facial recognition, and confronts the Templar leader — Dr. Elara Voss, a brilliant but corrupted former academic who believes peace must be engineered, not earned.
She reveals:
"You fight for freedom, Ezio. But freedom is chaos. We have built a world where people choose peace — even if they don’t know it. The Apple doesn’t control minds... it shows them the path they were always meant to walk."
Ezio responds:

As the fireworks explode over New York, the world watches the truth — and for a moment, the illusion breaks.
