Just Like A Phoenix! Supercell Announces Project R.I.S.E. From The Ashes Of Clash Heroes

Finnish game developer Supercell has made a surprising announcement. Following the cancellation of their RPG, Clash Heroes, they've revealed a new project: Project R.I.S.E. This isn't simply a relaunch, but a complete reimagining.

Clash Heroes is officially discontinued. Confirming earlier speculation, and mirroring the fate of Clash Mini, the game has been shelved. However, Supercell is giving it a new life as Project R.I.S.E., a social action RPG roguelite within the Clash universe.

Supercell's announcement video features game lead Julien Le Cadre stating, "Clash Heroes is dead. That's the bad news," he explained. "The good news is that Project R.I.S.E. is still a Clash game, and even better news is that it's now a multiplayer-focused action RPG."

Project R.I.S.E. shares a conceptual similarity to Clash Heroes, but it's a completely different game. It's a social action RPG roguelite built from the ground up.

Players will team up in groups of three to explore The Tower, a mysterious location. Each playthrough covers a different floor, with the objective of reaching the highest level possible. Unlike its predecessor, Project R.I.S.E. emphasizes cooperative gameplay with diverse characters, shifting away from solo PvE dungeon crawling.

Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. is scheduled for its first playtest in early July 2024. Registration for a chance to participate is open on the official website.
