Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown

Love Sudoku? Want to challenge friends? Battle of Sudoku is a multiplayer version where you compete against other players or teams. The goal remains the same: fill a 9x9 grid with digits so each row, column, and 3x3 subgrid contains all digits from 1 to 9.

Game Setup:

Before starting, select a difficulty level (1-6, 1 being easiest, 6 hardest). This determines the number of pre-filled digits. All players receive the identical puzzle.

Game Modes:

• Show Opponent's Correct Numbers: Every correctly placed number is visible to all players. Only the first player to correctly place a number earns points.
• Hidden Correct Numbers: Players cannot see each other's correct numbers, allowing for multiple players to earn points for the same correct digit.

Time-Outs:

Incorrectly placed numbers result in a time-out (default 30 seconds, configurable), preventing the player from making moves while others continue.

Scoring:

Correct numbers earn points, the amount depending on the difficulty level. Incorrect numbers deduct half the points earned for a correct placement.

Winning:

The game ends when the puzzle is solved. The player with the most points wins. In "Hidden Correct Numbers" mode, the game ends when one player solves the puzzle, though this doesn't grant extra points; other players can still win with fewer mistakes.

Team Play:

A team mode allows two teams to compete. Players select their team (1 or 2) upon joining. Points are added to the team's total score, and notes/colors are shared among teammates, facilitating collaborative solving strategies.

Solving Tools:

A toolbar provides tools to aid solving:

• Pen Tool: Add and remove number notes to squares.
• Fill Mode: Change the background color of squares.
