Days Gone Remastered: Enhanced PS5 Experience with New Modes and Features

Bend Studio's post-apocalyptic adventure, Days Gone, is getting a remastered release for the PlayStation 5, boasting a range of new features and enhancements. Announced during Sony's February 2025 State of Play, the PS5 version includes upgrades like Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support and PS5 Pro optimization, but the real highlight is the addition of several exciting new game modes.

These additions include a challenging permadeath mode, a speedrun mode for competitive players, and a significantly improved photo mode. Accessibility options have also received a boost. Furthermore, a new Horde Assault arcade mode lets players confront even larger hordes of Freakers than in the original game. Deacon St. John's journey is about to get even more intense!

Days Gone Remastered launches on April 25, 2025. PS4 owners can upgrade for a reasonable $10. Watch the debut trailer below:

This remastered edition represents Sony's continued effort to bring enhanced PS4 titles to the PS5. It joins other upgraded releases such as The Last of Us Part I and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered.

PC players aren't left out. While Days Gone is already available on PC, the new modes, enhanced photo mode, DualSense support (where applicable), and improved accessibility features will be available via a $10 Broken Roads DLC.

A recent PlayStation Blog post provided further details. Bend Studio highlights that the PS5 version is optimized for the console, offering choices between Performance and Quality modes. PS5 Pro users can expect even more impressive visuals and audio fidelity, along with enhanced DualSense features such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Days Gone Remastered will be available for $49.99. Pre-orders begin tomorrow, with early bird bonuses including eight PSN avatars and five in-game unlocks. For a complete overview of the State of Play announcements, check out our comprehensive summary here.
