The progression has been completely overhauled. You can now upgrade your fighters much more easily as you advance through levels. Additionally, you can (and should) unlock new fighters to boost your rank.
IMPORTANT! Enemies become tougher with each level, making UPGRADING fighters, UNLOCKING new ones, and RANKING UP essential!
