Alexa Plus Now Available on Select Echo Show Devices

Author : Brooklyn May 07,2025

Introducing Alexa+, the latest evolution in voice assistant technology from Amazon, now available in Early Access. Powered by advanced generative AI, Alexa+ offers a more natural and engaging conversational experience. Amazon touts Alexa+ as being "more conversational, smarter, personalized – and she helps you get things done," enhancing the way you interact with your smart home devices.

Currently, Alexa+ Early Access is exclusive to select Echo Show models, including the Echo Show 8, 10, 15, and 21. If you own one of these devices or are considering purchasing one, you can be among the first to experience Alexa+'s new capabilities. To stay updated on when Early Access becomes available, visit the provided link. Post the Early Access phase, Alexa+ will be offered as a complimentary benefit to Amazon Prime members, or for a subscription fee of $19.99 per month to non-Prime users.

With its conversational approach, Alexa+ allows you to inquire about anything that comes to mind, helping with a range of tasks from managing your to-do list and checking your calendar to making restaurant reservations. The Alexa+ Early Access page highlights that "new features are being added regularly," promising even more functionality and enhancements in the future.

However, not all devices will support Alexa+ immediately. Older Echo models like the Echo Dot 1st Gen, Echo 1st Gen, Echo Plus 1st Gen, Amazon Tap, Echo Show 1st Gen, Echo Show 2nd Gen, and Echo Spot 1st Gen will continue to operate with the original Alexa. Amazon assures that they are planning to extend Alexa+ compatibility to additional devices, including Fire TV, Fire tablets, and Alexa.com, in the near future.
