Alienware Area-51 RTX 5090 PC Hits New Low Price with Upgrades

Author : Zachary Jan 05,2026

For the ultimate in PC gaming performance, the choice is clear. Dell has just reduced the price of its flagship Alienware Area-51 prebuilt gaming PC, now featuring the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card, to $4,849.99 with complimentary shipping. This represents a competitive value, particularly for an Alienware system, compared to similar ready-made PCs available on Amazon. The RTX 5090 is unarguably the most powerful graphics card currently available and is nearly impossible to find on its own for under $3,000.

Alienware Area-51 Intel Core Ultra 9 285K RTX 5090 Gaming PC (64GB/4TB)

This Alienware Area-51 configuration is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor, 64GB of DDR5-6400MHz RAM, and a 4TB SSD. The Core Ultra 9 285K is Intel's latest top-tier CPU, delivering exceptional performance for both workstation tasks and gaming. While it isn't the significant leap forward from the i9-14900K we had hoped for, it remains Intel's best all-around processor. The CPU is cooled by a substantial 360mm all-in-one liquid cooling system, and the entire build is supported by a 1,500W Platinum-rated power supply.

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

Dell introduced the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis retains a familiar look from the 2024 R16 model but incorporates redesigned aesthetics and cooling, alongside updated internal components. The I/O panel has been relocated to the top of the case instead of the front, and the tempered glass side panel now stretches across its entire width, replacing a smaller window. Consequently, the previous side panel vents have been removed. Air intake is now handled by vents at the bottom and front of the chassis. Alienware has shifted to a positive air pressure design (more intake than exhaust), which helps reduce dust accumulation inside. The internals feature a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more robust power supply to fully support the latest generation of CPUs and GPUs.

The RTX 5090 Is the Most Powerful Graphics Card Ever

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has cemented its position as the most powerful consumer GPU available. Although Nvidia has focused on software enhancements, AI capabilities, and DLSS 4 technology to boost gaming performance, the 5090 still achieves an impressive 25%-30% increase in pure rasterization performance over the RTX 4090. It also features more VRAM (32GB versus 24GB) and utilizes faster memory (GDDR7 compared to GDDR6). This graphics card is exceedingly scarce at its official retail price and is currently selling for between $3,500 and $4,000 on secondary markets like eBay.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 FE Review by Jackie Thomas

"The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has officially claimed the performance throne from the RTX 4090, though with less dominance than in prior generational shifts. For traditional, non-AI-assisted gaming, the RTX 5090 offers one of the smallest performance jumps we've seen in years. However, in titles that support it, DLSS 4 delivers monumental performance gains—you simply have to accept that approximately 75% of the frames are AI-generated."
