"AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Confirmed: Official Release Announced"

Author : Andrew May 26,2025

AMD has officially unveiled the Radeon RX 9060 XT at Computex 2025, marking a significant follow-up to the acclaimed RX 9070 XT from March. While Team Red has kept details about this new mid-range graphics card under wraps, some key specs have been revealed.

The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT boasts 32 Compute Units and is equipped with a substantial 16GB of GDDR6 memory, making it a promising option for gamers aiming for 1080p performance. Given its smaller size, the RX 9060 XT is expected to consume less power than its predecessor, with a Total Board Power (TBP) ranging from 150-182W. With half the Compute Units and power consumption of the RX 9070 XT, the RX 9060 XT is anticipated to be less powerful but potentially more budget-friendly. Unfortunately, AMD has yet to disclose any pricing or release date details for this eagerly awaited GPU.

The Budget Battles Have Begun

The lack of pricing information from AMD on the Radeon RX 9060 XT is frustrating, yet it's expected to be competitively priced around the $250-$300 range, similar to the Intel Arc B580 and the recently launched RTX 5060. These competing GPUs have power budgets of 145W and 190W, respectively, and both entered the market at approximately $250-$300. It's highly probable that AMD is aiming for the same market segment.

When the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT hits the market, it will offer gamers on a budget of around $300 a trio of choices from different manufacturers. If the RX 9060 XT remains within this price bracket, it could gain an advantage with its 16GB of VRAM, surpassing the 8GB offered by Nvidia's RTX 5060 and the 12GB from Intel's Arc B580.

Although hands-on testing is needed to fully assess its performance, the RX 9060 XT's larger frame buffer could ensure it remains relevant longer as video memory demands increase with newer games. While the exact cost of the RX 9060 XT remains a mystery, it's poised to be a key player in the budget GPU arena. Only time will reveal its full potential and final price point.
