Seth MacFarlane's cult-favorite American Dad is making its triumphant return to Fox, officially scheduled for a network revival in 2026 alongside new episodes of its sister series Family Guy.
A Homecoming For Fox's Animated Favorites
This midseason comeback marks a full-circle moment for both shows, which originally aired on Fox from 2005-2014 before migrating to TBS until earlier this year. The return forms part of Fox's strategy to maintain dominance in primetime animated programming.
"Building on our leadership position in key demographics and co-viewing this season, Fox presents a 2025-26 lineup packed with irreverent humor and must-watch comedy," Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade stated via Variety. "Next year more than ever, we're fulfilling this promise with exceptional content across linear broadcasts, Hulu, and other platforms."

Fox Expands Its Streaming Future
The network continues innovating its distribution strategy, recently announcing Fox One - a new streaming service combining news, sports and entertainment content with both live and on-demand viewing options. Subscribers will eventually be able to bundle Fox One with Fox Nation service.
While Fox hasn't announced specific premiere dates for American Dad's return, fans can expect it to stream simultaneously on Fox One when it debuts. More details will emerge throughout next year - until then, keep rehearsing that infectious theme song!
