"Avatar: Seven Havens Announced, Post-Korra Era"

Author : Savannah May 02,2025

Get ready, Avatar fans! Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have just announced an exciting new addition to the beloved franchise: Avatar: Seven Havens. This series marks a significant milestone as it celebrates the 20th anniversary of Avatar: The Last Airbender, crafted by the original creators, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. Avatar: Seven Havens will be a 26-episode, 2D animated series, introducing us to a young Earthbender destined to be the next Avatar after Korra.

According to the press release from Nickelodeon, Seven Havens unfolds in a world that has been shattered by a devastating cataclysm. Our protagonist, the young Earthbender, discovers her destiny as the new Avatar, but in this perilous era, the title marks her as humanity's destroyer, not its savior. As she is hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin embark on a quest to uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens, the last strongholds of civilization.

In their statement, Konietzko and DiMartino shared their excitement, saying, "When we created the original series, we never imagined we'd still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters."

Avatar: Seven Havens will be structured into two seasons, each featuring 13 episodes: Book 1 and Book 2. The series is being co-created by DiMartino and Konietzko, alongside executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. While the cast remains under wraps for now, anticipation is already building.

This announcement comes from Avatar Studios, who are also busy with a full-length animated movie centered around adult Aang, set to premiere in theaters on January 30, 2026. This new film promises to take fans on a fresh adventure with the beloved character.

As part of the grand 20th anniversary celebration, Avatar Studios is rolling out a slew of new offerings including books, comics, concerts, toys, and even a game on Roblox. This exciting lineup ensures that fans old and new will have plenty of ways to dive into the ever-expanding world of Avatar.
