Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Reverses Controversial Zombies Change

Treyarch has addressed player concerns regarding recent changes to Black Ops 6's Zombies mode, specifically the Directed Mode spawn delay. Following community feedback, the January 9th update reversed the controversial alteration that extended the time between rounds and zombie spawns after five looped rounds in Directed Mode on the Citadelle des Morts map. This change, initially implemented on January 3rd, was met with significant player frustration due to its impact on kill farming and camo challenges.

The update also includes several bug fixes for Citadelle des Morts, addressing issues with quest progression, visual effects, and crashes related to the Void Sheath Augment for Aether Shroud.

Furthermore, the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod received substantial buffs:

  • Normal enemy activation rate increased to 20% (from 15%).
  • Special enemy activation rate increased to 7% (from 5%).
  • Elite enemy activation rate (with Big Game Augment) increased to 7% (from 5%).
  • Cooldown timer decreased by 25%.

These changes aim to restore the effectiveness and enjoyment of the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod.

The January 9th update also includes various global fixes, addressing issues with character skins, UI elements, and in-game audio. Multiplayer received stability improvements and increased XP rewards for the Red Light, Green Light mode.

Treyarch acknowledges that not all fixes are immediately implemented due to prioritization and testing requirements. The patch notes mention further fixes scheduled for the upcoming Season 2 update on January 28th, including a fix for the Terminus speedrun exploit and the Vermin double-attack bug. Players are encouraged to continue reporting bugs and providing feedback.
