Clash of Clans is set to ditch Troop Training times in major overhaul

Author : Joshua Mar 16,2025

Clash of Clans is about to undergo a massive transformation: troop training times are being completely eliminated! Get ready for near-instant army deployment and lightning-fast battles. However, this means it's now or never for your Training Potions and Treats – use them before they're gone! These will be removed from in-app purchases and chest rewards, though you can still find them in the Trader and Gold Pass for a limited time. After the month is up, they'll be converted to Gems.

While Clash of Clans remains a mobile gaming legend, its age is undeniable. Supercell recognizes this and has been steadily modernizing the game. This removal of troop, spell, and siege unit training times is arguably the most significant change yet, following the removal of training costs in 2022.

To help players adapt to this instant army deployment, Supercell is introducing "Match Anytime." This new feature lets you attack a snapshot of another player's base if no real-time opponents are available. You'll still earn rewards, but the defending player won't lose anything. This mechanic is already used in Clan Wars and Legend League, but will now become standard.

Other changes are also on the horizon, including the introduction of Elixir or Dark Elixir costs for army donations. For complete details, check out the official Supercell blog.
