Embarking on the main quest "For Whom the Bell Tolls" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* can indeed be a nerve-wracking experience, especially when you're navigating unfamiliar areas under a strict time limit. Here's a detailed guide to help you successfully complete this quest and save Hans from his impending execution at Trosky Castle.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 For Whom the Bell Tolls Walkthrough

Following the "Wedding Crashers" quest, you find yourself imprisoned in Trosky Castle, with Hans facing execution once the bell tolls 12 times. Fortunately, Henry is assigned labor duties around the castle instead of staying imprisoned, providing a narrow window to orchestrate Hans' rescue.

Hauling Sacks

Your first task is non-negotiable: haul sacks to a shed. Grab a sack from the wagon and carry it to the shed adjacent to the fenced area. After depositing the sack inside, repeat the process until the objective is marked as complete.

Help the Blacksmith

Next, you're tasked with assisting the blacksmith, who reluctantly assigns you to forge a horseshoe. Head to the forge area through the archway opposite the blacksmith. Gather the necessary materials and craft the horseshoe, then present it to the blacksmith for approval. After his nod of approval, follow the path back to the stables to deliver the horseshoe.

Help Fanka the Cook

After delivering the horseshoe, focus on aiding Hans. Return to the forge and retrieve a lockpick from the red pot on the shelves. Engage with the woman nearby, Fanka, who is a cook in the noble's kitchen. Offering your help grants you access to this restricted area.

Accompany Fanka to the kitchen. While lockpicking isn't necessary, doing so can enhance your reputation with Fanka, granting you future access to food, which might prove beneficial as you progress.

Speak with the Chamberlain

Upon entering the kitchen, you'll notice the chamberlain suffering from discomfort. Initiate a conversation and attempt to persuade him to let you brew a Digestive Potion. Success here grants you entry to the surgeon's workshop; otherwise, you'll need to resort to stealth.

Make Fever Tonicum

If you couldn't convince the chamberlain, you'll need to use kitchen food to distract the guard and sneak into the workshop. Otherwise, proceed directly to the surgeon's workshop located across from the forge, up the stairs, and through the non-noble kitchen area. Inside the workshop, utilize the ingredients from the chest to craft both the Fever Tonicum and, if applicable, the Digestive Potion.

Cure Thomas

With the Digestive Potion in hand, return to the chamberlain to secure permission to assist Thomas. Alternatively, if sneaking, navigate back to the noble's kitchen, ascend the stairs, and remain crouched to avoid detection. Distract the guard at the base of Thomas' staircase with a pebble and quietly ascend.

Once in Thomas' room, hand over the Fever Tonicum to Adele, triggering the concluding cutscene of the quest.

By following these steps, you'll successfully complete "For Whom the Bell Tolls" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. Helping Thomas before the 12th bell tolls will boost your reputation, although the overall outcome remains unchanged.
