Elden Ring: Nightreign Expands Bosses Late July

Nightfarers should prepare their gear. FromSoftware is unleashing its next wave of enhanced bosses, the Everdark Sovereigns, for Elden Ring: Nightreign later this month.

The next four Everdark Sovereigns will arrive as part of a new Everdark cycle in Limveld, starting July 31. The bosses scheduled for enhancement this time are Tricephalos, Augur, Equilibrious Beast, and Fissure in the Fog.

For previous Everdark Sovereigns, FromSoftware followed a weekly release schedule. While it's unconfirmed if this pattern will continue or which boss will appear first, the developer's teaser image prominently features Libra, the Equilibrious Beast, poised for combat.

The veil thins, and the Night hungers still.

I'm eager to see if this affects Libra's Faustian bargain mechanic. But even without a devil's deal, these confrontations promise to be formidable. Tricephalos is no easy foe, and the Fissure in the Fog battle already employs mechanics that often surprise new players. More powerful versions could prove fascinating.

To date, the Everdark Sovereigns have been well-received. While their difficulty varies based on the specific upgrades, FromSoftware appears to have crafted compelling new twists on Nightreign's core boss fights.

The update rhythm for Nightreign has felt somewhat akin to Monster Hunter's. Since launch, a steady flow of patches and enhanced content has gradually raised the challenge. It will be interesting to see Bandai Namco and FromSoftware's long-term plans for Nightreign, including any potential DLC.
