Equip Sensor Backpack to Scan Mysterious Energy in Fortnite Chapter 6

Author : Daniel Mar 26,2025

After a brief delay to complete the Outlaw Keycard Community Quest, Story Quests are back in *Fortnite* Chapter 6, Season 2. However, they've ramped up the challenge, especially in Stage 4. Here's your guide on how to equip the Sensor Backpack and scan Mysterious Energy Signatures in *Fortnite*.

How To Find the Sensor Backpack in Fortnite

Stage 3 of the Wanted: Midas Quests involves opening an Outlaw Chest, which you'll need to reach Rare rarity with the Outlaw Keycard. This task can be quite time-consuming, as you'll need to rob vaults, take down guards, and spend a significant amount of gold. Once you've managed to open that chest, Stage 4 awaits, and it's no walk in the park.

To find the "Sensor Backpack," you won't be looking in Chests or scavenging the ground. Instead, head to the wolf statue south of Crime City, where the Secret Wolf Pack gathers. You'll see a case on the ground near the statue. Interact with it, and the Sensor Backpack will replace your Back Bling, equipping itself onto your character.

How To Scan Mysterious Energy Signatures in Fortnite Chapter 6

With the Sensor Backpack equipped, your next task is to scan the Mysterious Energy Signatures in *Fortnite*. These are located near the area where you found the backpack, up the mountain. You'll notice three spots marked with exclamation points. Approach the nearest one, and you'll see glowing strings of lights. Simply interact with them to scan the signature.

The signatures are close to each other, but you must interact with all three to complete the Sensor Backpack Quest and earn your XP. Be cautious, as other players will likely be completing their Outlaw Quests at the same time and may not hesitate to eliminate you. It's wise to gear up before heading to the mountain to handle any encounters.

Once you've completed the Sensor Backpack challenge, you can move on to Stage 5, where you'll need to steal a copy of the Mask-Making Book from the Mask Maker's Hideout. With good time management and perhaps a vehicle, you can tackle this in the same match.

And that's how to equip the Sensor Backpack and scan Mysterious Energy Signatures in *Fortnite* Chapter 6.

*Fortnite is available to play on various platforms, including the Meta Quest 2 and 3.*
