Fortnite Adds a Highly Requested Feature

Summary

  • Fortnite players can now equip festival instruments as pickaxes and back blings.
  • This new feature, easily accessible via the locker's "instruments" option, has been incredibly well-received.
  • The update also includes new Godzilla collaboration cosmetics, featuring outfits and accessories.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1's latest update lets players use instruments from Fortnite Festival as pickaxes and back blings. This is just one of several additions to the game that have been warmly welcomed by fans. December 2024 saw the release of new game modes, including Ballistic, LEGO Fortnite: Brick Life, and Fortnite OG.

Fortnite Festival itself is a significant mode, offering unique gameplay. Many consider it a spiritual successor to Guitar Hero, featuring instrument-based rhythm gameplay with licensed music and cosmetic items available in the Item Shop. Epic Games recently added local co-op to Fortnite Festival, enhancing its social aspect. The mode has also seen collaborations with major artists like Snoop Dogg, Metallica, and Lady Gaga.

Epic Games surprised fans by allowing these Festival instruments into the main battle royale mode. Players can now select microphones, guitars, and other instruments as both back blings and pickaxes. An instrument can even function as both simultaneously; it disappears from the back when used as a pickaxe and reappears when switched. This update also features a major Hatsune Miku crossover, adding new outfits and instruments.

Fortnite’s Instruments Can Now Be Used as Pickaxes and Back Blings

Players can quickly access this new feature by navigating to their locker and using the new "instruments" filter for back blings and pickaxes. Fortnite has also updated instruments previously exclusive to back bling or pickaxe use, making them compatible with Fortnite Festival for expanded gameplay. This highly requested feature has been met with overwhelmingly positive feedback from the community.

The update also includes new cosmetics from the Fortnite x Godzilla collaboration. Fans can choose between pink and blue edit styles for Godzilla's outfit and unlock additional accessories like a wrap, harvester, and glider through battle pass challenges. With a wealth of new content, Fortnite's latest update has generated significant excitement among players.
