New Game Announced by Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Creators

Spanish studio MercurySteam, renowned for their work on titles such as *Castlevania: Lords of Shadow* and *Metroid Dread*, has exciting news for gamers: they've announced their latest project, an action-RPG called *Blades of Fire*. In partnership with publisher 505 Games, this game is set to draw players into a captivating dark fantasy realm teeming with enigmatic races and terrifying creatures.

The debut trailer for *Blades of Fire* offers a glimpse into its fast-paced hack-and-slash combat, distinctive visual style, and a richly atmospheric setting. Fans of MercurySteam's previous works will notice similarities in gameplay and artistic design to *Lords of Shadow*, while the game's environments and enemy designs echo the influence of *Darksiders*. A standout feature in the trailer is a mechanical bird, which appears to be a key element for the protagonist's navigation through the expansive game world.

*Blades of Fire* is being crafted using MercurySteam's own Mercury Engine. This choice of engine could potentially sidestep the optimization challenges that many modern games face when developed on Unreal Engine 5, promising a smoother gaming experience.

Mark your calendars for May 22, 2025, as *Blades of Fire* is slated for release on next-gen consoles including PS5 and Xbox Series, as well as on PC through the Epic Games Store (EGS). Get ready to dive into this thrilling new adventure!
