Gotham Knights: A Potential Nintendo Switch 2 Title?

Recent speculation suggests that the action RPG Gotham Knights may be making its way to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This intriguing possibility stems from a game developer's resume, as highlighted by YouTuber Doctre81 on January 5th, 2025.

The resume, belonging to a developer with a history at QLOC (2018-2023), lists several notable titles including Mortal Kombat 11 and Tales of Vesperia. Crucially, it also includes Gotham Knights, specifying development for two unreleased platforms.

While one platform could potentially be the original Nintendo Switch (given a past ESRB rating, since removed), the game's performance challenges on more powerful consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S cast doubt on this. The second unreleased platform strongly hints at the Nintendo Switch 2.

It's important to note that this remains unconfirmed by Warner Bros. Games or Nintendo. However, with the Nintendo Switch 2 being the only major, unreleased console currently anticipated, the possibility remains compelling.

Past Nintendo Switch Speculation and ESRB Rating

Initially released in October 2022 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X, Gotham Knights briefly received an ESRB rating for the original Nintendo Switch, fueling speculation and anticipation of a Nintendo Direct announcement. Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed on May 7th, 2024, via Twitter, that further details on the Switch's successor would be revealed "within this fiscal year," ending in March 2025.
