If you're a fan of Japanese music, you're likely familiar with HYDE, the iconic artist who has graced Madison Square Garden and sold over 40 million records. Now, HYDE takes center stage in a thrilling new endless runner game, "Hyde Run," which has just launched globally today.
Originally released in Japan, "Hyde Run" is now accessible to players worldwide. The game's developer and publisher, Phoenixx, aims to offer global fans a unique way to celebrate HYDE’s illustrious music career through a game packed with references to his journey.
Move, Jump or Slide in Hyde Run
In "Hyde Run," you embody HYDE as you dash through a concert stage and a futuristic version of Tokyo simultaneously. The high-speed chase across Neo Tokyo involves dodging obstacles, wall-running past billboards, and collecting musical notes. The game's atmosphere is infused with a vibrant, neon-and-noise energy, setting it apart from typical endless runners by incorporating the electrifying spirit of guitar solos and HYDE-specific fan service.
As you navigate through the city, you can pick up various power-ups, such as magnets that attract notes to you and barriers that shield you from damage. Before starting your run, you can equip items like Note Gain to collect more notes or a Barrier to avoid tripping over obstacles.
Additionally, you can gather crystals to unlock exclusive HYDE outfits and room items that reflect his career. Unlocking the Microphone Stand grants access to HYDE's voice clips, adding an authentic touch to the experience.
There’s More Stuff in the Game to Do
"Hyde Run" offers more than just running; you can personalize HYDE’s room with memorabilia spanning 20 years, from vintage tour gear to more obscure references. Hidden items unlock additional messages and voice notes from HYDE, enhancing the immersive experience.
Currently, there's limited-time content available until June 10th, 2025. The THE LAST ROCKSTARS Costume Set features HYDE in an iconic look from his music video, complete with matching ROCK Furniture like leopard prints, vintage trunks, and stage spotlights. For a more relaxed vibe, the Bat Jinbei Costume Set is inspired by summer festivals. There's also a traditional Japanese-style furniture set with bamboo, bonboris, and a wind chime shaped like HYDE’s Edyh character.
