KEMCO Launches Card Deck-Building Roguelite Novel Rogue on Android

KEMCO has released a new roguelite RPG for Android called Novel Rogue. This pixel-art fantasy JRPG features card deck-building and intriguing storylines. Prepare for a journey filled with books, magic, and strategic combat!

You play as Wright, a young apprentice under the tutelage of Yuisil, the Witch of Portals, within the Ancient Library. Wright’s adventure involves diving into four magical books, each transporting him to a unique world. One book leads to a quest assisting a princess knight in reclaiming her fallen kingdom; another plunges you into the mysteries of the underworld. Your choices significantly impact these worlds, ensuring replayability and diverse experiences.

What's Gameplay Like in Novel Rogue?

Novel Rogue features a core turn-based card battle system that dynamically changes based on the book you're exploring. Each of the four worlds offers its own unique deck-building mechanics. Defeat enemies, choose from three new cards after each battle, and craft the ultimate deck to conquer challenges.

A "Change" command allows you to strategically redistribute damage among your allies. "Novel Power" lets you enhance your deck using ink. For a greater challenge, try the Deep Record mode, which significantly increases dungeon difficulty.

As you progress, collect treasures to strengthen your relationships with characters, ultimately unlocking special endings. Customize your characters' appearances with Witch Stones, allowing you to select your preferred costumes.

Novel Rogue is available now for free on the Google Play Store. A premium version offers 150 bonus Witch Stones and additional perks, including an ad-free experience.
