Metaphor: ReFantazio Manga Chapter 1 Now Available
Experience Will's Journey Through Manga Art
Fans of Metaphor can now enjoy the premiere chapter of the official Metaphor: ReFantazio manga, currently streaming for free on MANGA Plus. This collaboration between Atlus and publisher Shueisha brings the fantasy world to life through the artwork of Yōichi Amano (known for Akaboshi: Ibun Suikoden and Stealth Symphony).
While drawing inspiration from the original game, the manga adaptation introduces several creative deviations. The opening storyline has been restructured, omitting certain initial locations and incorporating new events while reimagining how the protagonist meets his companions. Notably, the manga confirms "Will" as the canonical name for the main character, aligning with the game's default naming.
The next chapter is scheduled for simultaneous Japanese and international release on February 19th.
Metaphor: ReFantazio Earns Critical Acclaim

Metaphor: ReFantazio represents Atlus' latest franchise, developed by Studio Zero under Katsura Hashino's direction (renowned for the Persona 3-5 series). The story follows protagonist Will and fairy companion Gallica through the United Kingdom of Euchronia as they attempt to rescue a cursed prince.
With the king assassinated, the land plunges into turmoil without leadership. The monarch's final decree initiates a democratic succession, unexpectedly drawing Will into political machinations beyond his imagination.
The game achieved remarkable commercial success, selling over a million copies on launch day - making it Atlus' fastest-selling title to date, surpassing even Persona 3: Reload's early 2024 release. Critics universally praised the title, awarding it Best RPG, Best Art Direction, and Best Narrative honors at the 2024 Game Awards.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is currently available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
