Excitement is brewing in the world of Monster Hunter Now, as Niantic rolls out a new testing phase for a feature called Monster Outbreaks. This event is designed to gather player feedback and fine-tune the experience before its official launch. So, if you're eager to dive into this thrilling new addition, here's what you need to know.
When Is the Monster Outbreaks Testing in Monster Hunter Now?
The Monster Outbreaks testing will take place over the weekend of April 26th to 27th. You'll have two opportunities each day to join the action, with sessions running from 10:00 to 10:59 a.m. and again from 3:00 to 3:59 p.m., local time. These short bursts of activity are packed with intense hunting opportunities, so mark your calendars!
During these outbreaks, you'll encounter swarms of 8-star Black Diablos at specific outbreak points on the map. The challenge? Team up with other players to take down a whopping 100 Black Diablos at each outbreak location within the one-hour window. Remember, this goal is set per location, not globally!
To participate, you must be at least Hunter Rank (HR) 11. Note that the party feature won't be available; you'll need to join forces in person for these group hunts. Outbreak points are clearly marked with a special icon on the map. Simply tap on the icon to view details and check the sign-up roster, which lets you coordinate with other hunters on when to join the fray.
Black Diablos Is Rolling Up with Serious Boss Energy, in Swarm Mode!
The mechanics of the slay count are fascinating. If you team up with three other hunters and successfully take down a single Black Diablos, that counts as four towards the 100-goal tally. And if your group reaches the target before the hour is up, you can continue hunting Black Diablos for the remainder of the session.
Successful completion of the 100-monster challenge comes with some enticing rewards. Your team will earn 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Ridges, 3 Primeshells, 3 Marrows, and 2,000 Zenny. Plus, if you use the sign-up roster, you'll have the chance to snag a special Outbreak Test I Medal.
