"We Are Muesli Launches New Mobile Narrative Game

Indie studio We Are Muesli has unveiled their latest project, a narrative-driven game titled In Their Shoes, set to launch in 2026 for both mobile and PC platforms. The game has already garnered attention, earning a nomination for the prestigious 'A MAZE. 2025' awards in Berlin, celebrated for its focus on independent and arthouse games.

In Their Shoes: A Narrative Game that Emphasizes Listening

Set against the backdrop of modern-day Milan, a city known for its rich tapestry of contradictions, In Their Shoes invites players to immerse themselves in the lives of seven distinct characters. The game unfolds through 49 short, interactive segments, dubbed Moments, each providing a brief yet profound look into the daily experiences of its protagonists.

These Moments are designed to capture the essence of each character's life, from their hesitations and routines to the split-second decisions they face. Some segments unfold at a leisurely pace, allowing players to linger in the thoughts of the characters, while others demand quick responses, simulating the urgency of real-life situations.

Unlike conventional narrative games, In Their Shoes presents a narrative that is intentionally fragmented. As players navigate through the game, they will uncover 26 hidden biographical details for each character, weaving together a rich tapestry of slice-of-life stories.

While the game's Play Store page is yet to be launched, interested players can explore more on its Steam page. For a sneak peek into the world of In Their Shoes, check out the announcement trailer below.
