Nintendo Is Shutting Down Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp!

Breaking News: Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp to Shut Down!

You read that correctly! Nintendo has announced the end of service (EOS) for the popular mobile game, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, leaving many players surprised. What led to this decision? Let's find out!

The Shutdown Date: November 28th, 2024

Online services for Pocket Camp will cease on November 28th, 2024. If you're still enjoying your virtual campsite, make the most of these final days. Ironically, the game's seventh anniversary falls just a few days earlier, on November 21st.

Leaf Ticket purchases and Pocket Camp Club memberships will no longer be available. Auto-renewal for Pocket Camp Club memberships ends October 28th; no refunds will be issued for existing memberships after this date, but you will receive a commemorative badge.

Your last chance to purchase Leaf Tickets is November 26th. The final online farewell is scheduled for November 28th at 7:00 AM PST.

A Silver Lining: Offline Play!

Nintendo plans to release a paid offline version of the game. While features like the Market Box, gifting, and visiting friends' campsites will be absent, the core gameplay will remain. Your saved progress will be retained, allowing continued play without an internet connection. Expect more details on this paid offline version around October 2024.

Nintendo's Mobile Game Strategy

This closure follows a trend of Nintendo phasing out its mobile games. Dr. Mario World and Dragalia Lost have already met similar fates, and Mario Kart Tour is currently in maintenance mode. Therefore, the shutdown of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, while unexpected for some, isn't entirely shocking.

Enjoy the remaining time with Pocket Camp, available now on the Google Play Store. Stay tuned for our upcoming coverage of Monument Valley 3 from Netflix!
