Path of Exile 2: Bug Resolution Guide Announced

Author : Hazel Jan 21,2025

Like any Early Access title, Path of Exile 2 has encountered a few bugs. One prevalent issue involves the frustrating "Requirements Not Met" error when attempting to allocate skill points. This guide offers solutions to this problem.

What Causes the "Requirements Not Met" Bug in Path of Exile 2?

Players report receiving the "Requirements Not Met" message even when adjacent nodes are unlocked and skill points appear available. The root cause is debated; it might be a genuine bug or an unforeseen consequence of the skill point system. Regardless, resolving this error is crucial for progression.

Several fixes have been reported by players. Let's explore these potential solutions.

Verify Skill Point Types

As you progress, Path of Exile 2 introduces different skill point types. The "Requirements Not Met" error might arise from attempting to use the wrong point type for a specific node.

Check the top-right corner of your screen. It displays your available skill point types: Skill Points, Weapon Set I, Weapon Set II, and eventually, Ascendancy Points. Ensure you have the correct point type before allocating.

Resetting Skill Points

The problem might stem from inconsistencies in Weapon Set passive points. A complete respec often resolves this.

Visit "The Hooded One" in Clearfell Encampment (unlocked after completing "The Mysterious Shade" quest). This NPC facilitates respeccing and, unexpectedly, serves as a workaround for the "Requirements Not Met" bug.

Refunding your skill points and reallocating them has proven effective for many players. While time-consuming, it's currently the most reliable solution.

Path of Exile 2 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
