"Peacemaker Season 2 Trailer Unveils Superman Ties and New Characters"

Max has unveiled an exciting new trailer for Peacemaker Season 2, which significantly amplifies its connections to the Superman universe by introducing Maxwell Lord, Hawkgirl, and Guy Gardner right from the opening scene.

The trailer starts with Sean Gunn portraying Maxwell Lord, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, and Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl conducting a dismissive interview with John Cena’s Peacemaker, hinting at his potential recruitment into a superhero team. The interview doesn’t go smoothly, leaving Peacemaker visibly frustrated as he storms out.

This marks the first glimpse of these supporting characters who are slated to appear in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie.

Peacemaker Season 2 is set to premiere on August 21, following the release of Superman on July 11, marking it as the third entry in the new DCU, which was initiated by the Creature Commandos TV series late last year.

James Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran are steering the DC franchise into a fresh cinematic universe, distancing it from the critically panned DC Extended Universe that featured films like Justice League, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Man of Steel. However, certain elements will carry over, with Peacemaker being a prime example. While Season 1 was part of the DCEU, Season 2 will be integrated into the new DCU.

Additionally, Gunn has revealed that the show will be set after the events of both Creature Commandos and Superman, with the latter's events directly impacting Peacemaker.
