Sony Unveils Sleek Midnight Black PS5 Accessories

Sony has unveiled a stylish new Midnight Black Collection for the PlayStation 5, adding a touch of darkness to its popular accessories. The collection includes the DualSense Edge wireless controller, PlayStation Portal handheld, Pulse Elite wireless headset, and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds.

All items, except the headset, are priced at $199.99, while the Pulse Elite headset is $149.99. Pre-orders begin January 16th, 2025, with a full launch on February 20th, 2025, exclusively at direct.playstation.com.

This announcement follows the excitement surrounding CES 2025 and builds on Sony's history of releasing color variations for its PS5 accessories, including previous releases like Volcanic Red and Galactic Purple. The Midnight Black collection offers a sophisticated alternative to the standard white DualSense controller. Further fueling consumer interest, rumors of a significant PlayStation VR2 upgrade are circulating.

The DualSense Edge controller in Midnight Black features a modern design and includes a black carrying case. The Pulse Elite headset, while more expensive than its predecessor ($149.99 vs $99.99), also comes with a felt gray carrying case (shared with the earbuds). The Pulse Explore earbuds maintain the $199.99 price point.

Beyond the Midnight Black Collection, Sony continues to expand its themed DualSense controller offerings. Following the successful releases tied to God of War and Marvel's Spider-Man 2, a limited-edition Helldivers 2 DualSense controller is now available for pre-order.
