  • Strength in Numbers runs from May 20 to 22.
  • Gift as many presents as possible to friends.
  • You can also gift Special Research tickets for Community Day Classic.

Pokémon Go’s Might and Mastery season is building toward its finale, with Niantic spotlighting global teamwork. From Tuesday, May 20 to Thursday, May 22, the Strength in Numbers Global Challenge encourages you to send Gifts to friends—the more the better.

During the event, you can open up to 50 Gifts daily. This not only increases your chances of earning Stardust, valuable items, and friendship boosts but also moves the worldwide player base closer to unlocking a special reward: giftable Special Research tickets for the upcoming Community Day Classic featuring Machop.

Should the global challenge be completed successfully, starting May 23, you’ll be able to send these Machop Special Research tickets to any friend you’ve reached Great Friends status with. You can gift these even without purchasing one for yourself—simply visit the in-game shop and share the Fighting-type excitement. Each trainer can send up to 20 tickets per day, making generosity easy.

This sets the stage for the Machop Community Day Classic on May 24, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. The Superpower Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild, and Shiny Machop returns as well—ideal for trainers who missed the original event or want another chance to build a green-glowing Machamp squad.

Evolve Machoke by May 31 to obtain a Machamp that knows Payback, a Dark-type Charged Attack offering a tactical advantage in certain battles. With Stardust bonuses, extended three-hour Incense and Lures, and Timed Research that provides an encounter with increased Shiny odds, there’s plenty to enjoy.

Prepare for the event by downloading Pokémon Go for free. Visit the Pokémon Go Web Store to stock up on supplies ahead of time.
