Pokémon Go is bringing back the Bug Out event with Sizzlipede’s debut this time

Author : Audrey May 02,2025

The much-anticipated Bug Out event is making its return to *Pokémon Go*, set to take place from March 26th to 30th. This event is a paradise for fans of Bug-type Pokémon, introducing the debut of Sizzlipede and its evolution, Centiskorch, alongside a host of exciting wild encounters, raids, bonuses, and new challenges.

Lure Modules will be your best friend during this event, not only attracting Sizzlipede but also increasing the number of Pokémon appearing at a PokéStop when enough are caught using a single Lure Module. This is your chance to fill your Pokédex with a variety of Bug-types.

Players can look forward to earning double XP and extra Candy for Nice Throws or better, with an increased chance of earning Candy XL for trainers at level 31 and above. Shiny hunters will be thrilled with the enhanced odds of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.

Expect to see a swarm of Bug-types in the wild, including favorites like Caterpie, Weedle, Wurmple, Nincada, Venipede, Dwebble, Joltik, Grubbin, Dewpider, and Nymble. Keep an eye out for the elusive Cutiefly, which might make a surprise appearance.

Sizzlipede will be featured in one-star raids alongside Scyther and Nincada, while three-star raids will be dominated by Beedrill, Scizor, and Kleavor. Completing event-themed Field Research tasks will earn you Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with event-specific Pokémon.

Don't miss the free Timed Research opportunity, which offers encounters with Shedinja, Sizzlipede, Kleavor, and more, along with a Lure Module. For those seeking additional rewards, a Paid Timed Research option is available for $2 (or the local equivalent), providing encounters with Heracross, Sizzlipede, and Kleavor, plus two Premium Battle Passes and an additional Lure Module.

New Collection Challenges will offer rewards such as Stardust, XP, and Pokémon encounters, while PokéStop Showcases will spotlight event-themed Pokémon. Make sure to check out the in-game shop for the new Sizzlipede Boots and a Scolipede Jacket to add some flair to your avatar.
