Popular 1998 Horror Game Announces Full Remake

The House of the Dead 2: Remake - A Classic Returns in Spring 2025

Get ready for a blast from the past! Forever Entertainment and MegaPixel Studio have announced a complete remake of the iconic 1998 arcade rail shooter, The House of the Dead 2. Launching across all major platforms in Spring 2025, this updated version promises enhanced visuals, new environments, and exciting gameplay additions.

Originally a Sega arcade hit, The House of the Dead 2 offered a unique gameplay experience distinct from contemporaries like Resident Evil. This remake delivers a modern take on the classic zombie-slaying action, boasting improved graphics, remastered audio, and a revitalized arcade feel.

The recently released announcement trailer showcases the game's updated visuals. Players once again step into the shoes of a secret agent battling hordes of undead to prevent a catastrophic outbreak. The remake expands upon the original with additional environments to explore, both solo and in co-op mode. Gameplay options are also broadened to include multiple game modes (Classic Campaign and Boss Mode), branching level paths, and multiple endings.

The House of the Dead 2: Remake - Platform Launch Details

Expect high-octane action, gory effects, and satisfying combo counters when The House of the Dead 2: Remake arrives on Nintendo Switch, PC (GOG and Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in Spring 2025. The blend of retro gameplay with modern visuals and an improved HUD promises a thrilling experience for both newcomers and longtime fans.

A Wave of Retro Horror Revivals

The House of the Dead 2: Remake joins a growing trend of classic horror game revivals, following the success of Resident Evil remakes and the Clock Tower remaster. Zombie horror enthusiasts should keep an eye out for further updates on this and other exciting retro gaming comebacks.
