Potential Pokemon Legends: Z-A Release Date Leaks Online

Pokémon Legends: Z-A: August 15, 2025 Release Date Leak

Rumors of a Pokémon Legends: Z-A release date surfaced online, pointing towards an August 15, 2025 launch. This potential release date, initially spotted on Amazon UK in early January 2025, aligns with The Pokémon Company's previously stated 2025 release window.

Initially unveiled during the 2024 Pokémon Day celebrations in February, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is anticipated as a sequel to the 2022 hit, Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Similar to its predecessor, this title focuses on exploration, foregoing traditional gym battles and the Pokémon League in favor of a more open-ended, collectible experience. Since its announcement, official details have been scarce.

The Amazon UK listing, briefly showing the August 15th date before reverting to a December 31st placeholder, fueled speculation. This leak, discovered by content creator Light88, further strengthens the possibility of a summer 2025 release.

February 2025 Confirmation Possible?

The official release date may be revealed sooner than expected. Considering the game's initial announcement during Pokémon Day 2024, its release date could similarly be unveiled during the 2025 Pokémon Day event on February 27th – the anniversary of the original Japanese release of Pokémon Red and Green. Recent findings from a Pokémon GO datamine support this February 27th date for Pokémon Day 2025.

Beyond the release date, fans anticipate a gameplay reveal, potentially debuting at the same February 2025 Pokémon Presents broadcast.

Switch and Switch 2 Compatibility

Pokémon Legends: Z-A is confirmed for release on both the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2, thanks to the latter's backward compatibility. While past mainline Pokémon games have included paid DLC, Pokémon Legends: Arceus only received a single free post-launch update, "Daybreak."
