What is Purple, the new mobile game from Bart Bonte?

Author : Anthony Mar 05,2025

Bart Bonte's latest brain teaser, simply titled "Purple," is now available on Google Play and the App Store. This microgame collection, part of a color-themed series, challenges players with over 50 uniquely designed puzzles.

Following the color-naming convention of its predecessors (Yellow, Red, Black, Blue, Green, Pink, and Orange), Purple offers a visually stunning experience with its purple-centric graphics and custom soundtrack. The gameplay is reminiscent of Warioware, featuring a rapid-fire succession of short, self-contained puzzles. Examples include aligning number 3s or navigating mazes – the focus is on quick, inventive challenges rather than complex mechanics.

The game's aesthetic boasts an art nouveau feel, enhanced by its purple palette and original soundtrack. While the simplicity might not appeal to all, the combination of short, engaging puzzles, a pleasant soundtrack, and attractive visuals makes for a compelling experience. Whether Purple will achieve the same award-winning success as Bonte's previous titles remains to be seen.
