It has become something of a tradition for developers of popular esports games to unveil major announcements just before the world championship grand finals. Ubisoft is continuing that trend, and with Rainbow Six Siege entering its tenth year, expectations were high for something significant… and they delivered!
Ubisoft has revealed Siege X, a substantial evolution for Rainbow Six Siege. The developers clarified that this isn't a sequel, but it's far more than a routine update. We expect Siege X will be to Rainbow Six Siege what Counter-Strike 2 was to Global Offensive: a major overhaul that feels like a new game, while preserving all player progress and data from the previous version.
Further details will be unveiled during a special presentation on March 13. Ubisoft promises a three-hour live event with an audience in Atlanta. In celebration of Rainbow Six Siege's tenth anniversary, Ubisoft also launched a special commemorative pack, giving players the chance to unbox legendary skins from the game's earliest seasons—essentially an all-in-one collection.
