R.E.P.O Console Release Confirmed

*R.E.P.O.*, the co-op horror game that launched in February, has captured the attention of over 200,000 PC players. However, fans eager to know if *R.E.P.O.* will make its way to consoles might be disappointed. As of now, *R.E.P.O.* remains a PC-exclusive title, and there's no indication from its developer, semiwork, that a console version is in the works. The team is currently focused on refining the game's multiplayer experience, which has encountered some challenges.

One of the primary hurdles semiwork is facing is the issue of cheating in multiplayer lobbies. They are striving to enhance the game's multiplayer mechanics without compromising the integrity of the gameplay. "The main issue with matchmaking lobbies is hackers. But the issue with an anti-cheat system is that you’re ruining the experience for everyone who has made mods, because mods don’t work with an anti-cheat system. And we don’t want that," the developer explained to PCGamer. This complex problem needs to be resolved before any consideration of a console port can be entertained.

While some PC-only games like *Mouthwashing* have successfully transitioned to consoles, it's worth noting that *Mouthwashing* is a single-player game, which simplifies the porting process. Other similar titles such as *Lethal Company* and *Content Warning*, which also involve sneaking past monsters, have remained PC-exclusive. Last year, the developers of *Content Warning* mentioned they were considering a console release, but technical difficulties have since halted any progress on that front.

In summary, *R.E.P.O.*'s developer has not shown any interest in bringing the game to consoles and is instead concentrating on improving the multiplayer aspects of the PC version.
