Rumor: The First Specs Of The Nvidia RTX 5090 Have Leaked

Nvidia's GeForce RTX 5090: A Powerhouse with a Price Tag

Leaked specifications suggest Nvidia's upcoming RTX 5090 graphics card will be a powerhouse, featuring a substantial 32GB of GDDR7 video memory – double that of the anticipated RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti. This high-performance comes at a cost, however, with a hefty 575W power draw.

The official unveiling of the RTX 50 series, including the RTX 5090, is scheduled for Nvidia's CES 2025 keynote on January 6th. Codenamed Blackwell, this next-generation lineup arrives over two years after the RTX 40 series launch. Expect features like DLSS upscaling, ray tracing, and PCIe 5.0 support (on compatible motherboards). The RTX 50 series will directly compete with AMD's Radeon RX 9000 and Intel's Battlemage GPUs.

Pre-CES leaks from Inno3D, an Nvidia AIB partner, showcased their iChill X3 RTX 5090. Images revealed a triple-fan cooler occupying over three expansion slots. The packaging confirmed the 32GB GDDR7 memory and the significant 575W TDP, a considerable jump from the RTX 4090's 450W.

The RTX 5090: High Memory, High Power, High Price?

The 32GB GDDR7 memory is a key highlight, offering twice the capacity of its anticipated siblings, the RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti. However, the 575W power draw necessitates a robust power supply. Nvidia remains tight-lipped on pricing, but industry speculation points to an MSRP potentially exceeding $1999. The use of a proprietary 16-pin power connector is confirmed, though adapters will be available.

The full RTX 50 series, including the RTX 5080 and 5070 Ti, will be revealed alongside the RTX 5090 during Nvidia's CES presentation. The high-end specifications are impressive, but the final impact on consumers will depend heavily on the official pricing and performance benchmarks.
