Expecting a standard 30-second message, the fan was instead gifted with over six minutes of heartfelt encouragement from Conroy. Moved by the fan's personal story, Conroy went beyond a formal response, creating a video that became a lifeline for the fan during some of his darkest moments.

The fan's journey began after being deeply affected by the game's ending, where Batman confronts his fears, paranoia, and hallucinations. This resonated profoundly with the fan, mirroring his own battle with schizophrenia. In gratitude, he shared his story with Conroy, explaining how the Dark Knight's resilience inspired him to keep fighting his own struggles.

The unexpected length and depth of Conroy's response were a surprise. The fan described the impact of the video, saying, "This video has saved me from suicide countless times. Hearing Batman say he believed in me was incredibly powerful... But as time went on, it became just as important that it was Kevin himself who believed in me."

Initially hesitant to share the video publicly, the fan's perspective changed upon learning that Conroy had a brother who also suffered from schizophrenia. He decided to post the video on Reddit, hoping it could offer solace and inspiration to others facing similar challenges.
