Tony Hawk Aims for Underground Remake

Author : Gabriel May 21,2025

If you've been longing for a return to Tony Hawk's Underground, you're in good company—Tony Hawk himself is "campaigning" for a remake as well.

"I always have aspirations," Hawk shared with ScreenRant. "It's not up to me generally. I'll campaign all I can, but I'm working with a much bigger company that's a lot smarter than me."

When asked about Activision's plans following the release of Pro Skate 3 + 4, Hawk remained tight-lipped, saying, "We haven't even released this game [yet]!"

Tony Hawk's Underground, which hit the shelves back in 2003, received an impressive 9.2 review score from us at the time, praised for its "virtually flawless" level design and "stellar gameplay." It was a groundbreaking entry in the series, allowing players to dismount their boards and explore the expansive levels on foot for the first time.

Play*Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4* is set to launch on *Nintendo Switch 2*, Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, and Xbox One on July 11, 2025. Activision is curating the official THPS 3 + 4 playlist on Spotify, continually updating it with new song reveals—check out the latest additions in our comprehensive soundtrack list [here](#).

"In an era where it seems like every game from the early 2000s is receiving a modern facelift, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is poised to be a welcome addition to a year filled with stellar remakes and remasters," we noted in our IGN's Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 first impressions preview.

"From its faithful recreation of what made the PS2-era classics so memorable, to its modern quality of life improvements, excellent soundtrack, and overall homage to the series' early days, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 is definitely a game to watch if you're a fan of skateboarding, enjoy action sports games, or simply want to play something that's straightforward and enjoyable. It might just be the easiest kickflip you’ll land this year."
