Turtle Beach is Ending Its Partnership With Dr Disrespect

Turtle Beach has officially ended its partnership with Dr Disrespect after allegations about his Twitch ban in 2020 surfaced a few days ago. The gaming accessory manufacturer has sponsored and partnered with Dr Disrespect regularly over the years, including creating a special themed headset of the popular former Twitch streamer.

Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV, also known as Dr Disrespect, was permanently banned from Twitch in June 2020, and the reason for his departure remained a mystery at the time. A few days ago, however, former Twitch staff member Cody Conners claimed that the ban was caused by Dr Disrespect sexting with a minor using Twitch’s private messaging service Whispers and trying to meet up with her in real life. These allegations sparked a huge controversy, and some of Beahm’s partners decided to speak up.

Now, the gaming accessory manufacturer Turtle Beach has told IGN that the company will no longer keep its partnership with Dr Disrespect. Previously, the gaming headset company had signed a multi-year deal in 2020 with Beahm to sponsor its ROCCAT brand. Last year, Turtle Beach also unveiled a Dr Disrespect-themed headset, and it has sponsored several streams by the content creator. Right now, Dr Disrespect’s merchandise page on Turtle Beach’s official website does not exist anymore.

Dr Disrespect Is No Longer Part of Midnight Society Too
Turtle Beach is not the first company to break up with Dr Disrespect in the wake of the Twitch ban allegations. Earlier this week, Midnight Society also cut ties with Dr Disrespect. Beahm co-founded the game studio together with Robert Bowling and Quinn DelHoyo in 2021, but the team announced the termination of the relationship soon after the controversy started. According to Midnight Society’s official announcement, the team had assumed Beahm’s innocence previously but ultimately decided to split up with the content creator.

Dr Disrespect currently denies the recent allegations regarding his Twitch ban. He maintains that “no wrongdoing was acknowledged” regarding his ban, and that nothing illegal happened to provoke the event. Also, Beahm clarified that the whole situation was properly settled with Twitch back in 2020.

Recently, Dr Disrespect also announced that he would take a break from streaming. During a recent stream, the content creator reiterated his innocence against the accusations and revealed that he was already planning a vacation soon. Due to the recent events, he would likely take the vacation sooner and extend its time. It’s unknown how long Dr Disrespect’s vacation will last, or what his plans for the future are.
