A recent development update from The Chinese Room sheds light on the vampire hunters of Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2. This faction, known as the Information Awareness Bureau (IAB), operates covertly despite having no formal government backing. Their mission revolves around hunting vampires, referred to as "Hollow Ones," while maintaining plausible deniability through activities labeled as "training exercises" and "counter-terrorism efforts."
At the helm of the IAB in Seattle is Agent Baker, a pragmatic leader who is single-minded in her pursuit of eradicating vampires. Known for her meticulous investigation methods and deep study of historical data, she has earned the nickname "The Hen" from her devoted followers. Her leadership ensures the hunters remain steadfast in their mission.
The IAB operates with precision and coordination, securing their Seattle base both inside and out. Engaging them solo is nearly impossible due to their teamwork, use of spotlights, and constant communication via portable radios. During combat, they wield thermic batons that penetrate defenses and phosphorous grenades that force enemies into the open. Their sniper crossbows fire explosive bolts capable of dealing significant damage if not neutralized promptly.
Despite their formidable tactics, these hunters are not immune to countermeasures. Weaker than ghouls and vampires, they can be exploited with specific abilities. For instance, Fire can intercept grenades or bolts in mid-air and send them back. Alternatively, players can leverage the Ventru clan's powers to possess an enemy and turn them against their allies.
Set to release in the first half of 2025, Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
