How To View Your 2024 Snap Recap In Snapchat

Snapchat's 2024 Snap Recap: A Year in Review

Looking back on the past year? Many apps are offering year-end recaps, and Snapchat is no exception with its new 2024 Snap Recap feature.

What is a Snap Recap?

Unlike last year, Snapchat now offers a year-end recap. Similar to Spotify Wrapped or Twitch recaps, Snap Recap compiles your year's Snapchat data into a fun (and maybe slightly embarrassing) summary. However, unlike other recaps that focus on statistics, Snap Recap randomly selects a Snap from each month of 2024, offering a visual journey through your year. The recap seamlessly transitions into your Memories, allowing you to view past events documented on Snapchat.

How to Access Your 2024 Snap Recap

Accessing your 2024 Snap Recap is simple. On the main camera screen, swipe up to open Memories (don't press the shutter button). Your 2024 Snap Recap should be prominently displayed as a highlighted video.

Tap the recap (avoiding the share icon) to view your curated selection of Snaps. The recap plays automatically; tap the screen to advance through the Snaps. You can save, edit, share, or even add your recap to your Story. Like other Snaps, it remains private unless you choose to share it.

Why Don't I Have a Snap Recap?

If your 2024 Snap Recap isn't appearing, don't worry. Snapchat states the rollout is gradual, and yours might not be ready yet. The number of saved Snaps is a factor in whether a recap is generated; infrequent use might explain its absence. Unfortunately, Snapchat Support confirms that you can't request a recap if one isn't automatically created.
