"War of the Visions: FF Brave Exvius to Shut Down in May"

Author : Alexis Apr 22,2025

It's a somber day for fans of the Final Fantasy series as another beloved mobile title, War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, is set to be discontinued. The game, a spinoff from the main Brave Exvius series, will cease operations on May 29th of this year. If you're keen on experiencing the game one last time, you'll need to dive back in before the final curtain falls.

War of the Visions adds to the growing list of Square Enix mobile games that have been shut down in recent times. Interestingly, this closure comes after the announcement of the original Brave Exvius shutting down in September 2024. This trend of closures suggests that Square Enix might be reevaluating its strategy in the mobile gaming market.

While it's not about the quality of War of the Visions itself, the recent spate of shutdowns indicates a possible crisis of confidence within Square Enix regarding their mobile game portfolio. With a vast array of mobile titles, including ports of classic retro games, it's clear the company has been pushing hard in this space. However, the market may be feeling the strain of too many spin-offs, especially as the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XIV is slated for a mobile release, offering fans yet another way to enjoy the franchise on the go.

This situation may reflect a bit of overconfidence on Square Enix's part, and unfortunately, it's the fans who feel the impact as they lose access to games they've enjoyed. But don't despair! We still have a curated list of the best Final Fantasy games available on mobile to help you continue your RPG adventures.
