World of Warcraft has introduced a new pair of in-game items for fans who opt for at least a six-month subscription: the Timbered Sky Snake mount for modern WoW, and the Timbered Air Snakelet pet for Classic. These items, inspired by the 2025 Zodiac Sign, will be awarded to qualifying subscribers no later than January 31, 2025.

Since 2018, World of Warcraft has been rewarding players with bonus in-game incentives for subscribing to six or more months at a time. These rewards, which typically refresh in January and July, often align with the lunar Zodiac signs. For example, the Auspicious Arborwyrm was themed around the 2024 Year of the Wood Dragon.

The first six-month subscription offer for 2025 features the Timbered Sky Snake, a flying mount for retail WoW that celebrates the Year of the Wood Snake, and the Timbered Air Snakelet, a matching pet for Cataclysm Classic. These can be obtained by purchasing a bulk World of Warcraft subscription of at least six months. Alternatively, they can be purchased separately from the in-game store for $25 and $10, respectively. The Timbered Sky Snakelet, the matching pet for modern WoW, is available for $10 in the Battle.net shop but is not part of the subscription offer.

Players already on a recurring subscription will also receive these rewards. Both items will be added to qualifying Battle.net accounts by January 31, 2025, and must be redeemed before the same date in 2026, when they will be replaced with items themed around the Year of the Fire Horse.

In addition to these, players who choose a 12-month subscription will receive the Startouched Furline, Gigantic Grrloc, and Charming Courier mounts for modern WoW, along with the Lava Drake mount and Swoopy pet for Classic. These subscribers will also automatically receive the six-month subscription offer from July, making it an excellent choice for mount collectors.

According to World of Warcraft’s 2025 roadmap, retail WoW will see two major patches starting with 11.1, and may even introduce player housing by the end of the year. For Classic, progression servers are advancing to Mists of Pandaria, new anniversary realms will progress through vanilla and into The Burning Crusade, and Season of Discovery will enter its final phase.
