Wuthering Waves: Demystifying Elemental Impacts

Author : Chloe Jan 24,2025

Wuthering Waves' Version 2.0 introduces significant changes to its elemental system, particularly with Elemental Effects. While elements previously offered passive buffs and resistances, Version 2.0 allows for more direct interactions. This guide details these new Elemental Effects.

All Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs

Elemental Effects, initially applied only by enemies, now impact players. Each element has a unique effect:

Elemental Effect Effect Description
Havoc Bane Stacks periodically (up to 2). At 2 stacks, all stacks are removed, dealing Havoc DMG and reapplying to nearby characters.
Glacio Chafe Reduces movement speed per stack (up to 10 stacks). At 10 stacks, freezes the resonator; players can "Struggle" to thaw faster.
Spectro Frazzle Stacks reduce periodically, dealing Spectro DMG. More stacks = more DMG over time.
Fusion Burst Stacks up to 10, then explodes, dealing significant Fusion DMG.
Aero Erosion Deals Aero DMG periodically; stacks don't decrease to deal DMG. More stacks = more DMG over time.
Electro Flare Reduces ATK based on stacks: 1-4 stacks (-5%), 5-9 stacks (-7% + Magnetized effect), 10 stacks (-10%).

Dodging removes all effect stacks.

Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets

Currently, Elemental Effect utilization is limited. Only a few Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets interact with these effects:

Resonators Applying Elemental Effects:

  • Spectro Rover: Post-Version 2.0 rework, Spectro Rover uniquely applies Spectro Frazzle (2 stacks) via its Resonating Spin Resonance Skill. This skill also applies Shimmer, preventing stack decay, allowing sustained Spectro Frazzle buildup.

Echoes and Echo Sets Related to Elemental Effects:

  • Echo Set - Eternal Radiance: 2-piece bonus: +10% Spectro DMG. 5-piece bonus: Spectro Frazzle inflicts increases Crit. Rate by 20% for 15s. 10 stacks of Spectro Frazzle grants a 15% Spectro DMG Bonus for 15s.
  • Echo - Nightmare: Mourning Aix attacks deal 273.60% Spectro DMG. DMG against Spectro Frazzle-inflicted enemies is increased by 100.00%. The equipped Resonator gains a 12.00% Spectro DMG Bonus.

As of Version 2.0, these mechanics are primarily beneficial to Spectro Rover. Future updates may expand Elemental Effect integration.
