Allah says in the Quran:
**"And establish prayer for My remembrance" (20:14),**
**"Successful indeed are the believers, those who are humble in their prayers" (23:1-2),**
**"And establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater" (29:45).**
From these verses, we understand that prayer reminds us of Allah, instills humility, and protects us from immorality and wrongdoing. However, the reality is different. During prayer, our minds often wander to business, jobs, farming, family issues, and daily life concerns. How humble are we before the Almighty, the Most Honored, the Most Majestic? Millions of Muslims perform their five daily prayers, yet many engage in acts considered immoral and unjust in Islam, such as usury, lying, cursing, and backbiting. Why does this happen?
It's because we don't know what we're reciting during prayer, whether it's during Quran recitation, prostration, bowing, or sitting. As a result, prayer becomes just a routine that we perform without understanding. **Is this the model of an educated nation?** It's crucial to know what you're reciting during prayer today.
"Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to that of those who follow him, without their reward being diminished in any way." [Sahih Muslim: 2678]
