Application Description

The Chess Engines application is designed to enhance your chess experience by integrating seamlessly with various chess GUI applications. This app does not have its own graphical interface; instead, it serves as a repository for powerful, open-source chess engines that can be utilized by any Android chess app supporting the OEX (Open Exchange) protocol.

Included in this collection are the following renowned chess engines:

  • Stockfish 17 - A top-tier engine known for its exceptional performance and strategic depth. Learn more at Stockfish 17.
  • Stockfish 16.1 - A slightly older but still highly effective version of Stockfish. Details available at Stockfish 16.1.
  • Clover 7.0 - An innovative engine that brings unique strategic insights to your games. Explore it on GitHub.

To make the most of these engines, we recommend using the following chess GUIs:

  • Analyze your Chess (free version) - Available on the Google Play Store.
  • Analyze your Chess Pro (paid version) - Enhance your experience further with the Pro version.

To integrate these engines with your chosen GUI, simply navigate to the Engine Management Screen, access the Overflow Menu, and select Install Open Exchange Engine. From there, you can choose and install your preferred chess engine(s).
