Application Description

The Kiwanis Club of New Kingston (KCNK) is excited to introduce the KCNK Little Bee Game, a fun and educational spelling app designed for kids aged 4 to 9. Sponsored by Grace Kennedy Money Services (GKMS) and Western Union (WU), this app brings the excitement of the Primary & Prep school spelling Bee competition right to your fingertips.

The KCNK Little Bee Game offers a versatile learning experience with three engaging modes: Learning Mode 1, Learning Mode 2, and Competition Mode. Each mode features 10 progressive levels, with each level containing at least 15 words to master. The words remain consistent across all modes, ensuring a cohesive learning journey.

In the Settings menu, students can personalize their experience by entering their name, age, parish, and school. They can then choose their preferred mode to start learning.

Learning Mode 1 helps students spell words by tapping each letter from left to right. The app audibly announces each letter, allowing children to follow along. If a mistake is made, it can be easily corrected by tapping on the error. To hear the word again, students can tap the little bee icon at the top left of the screen. To progress, students must spell each word correctly before moving to the next one, and successfully complete all words to finish a level. Levels can be repeated at any time, but earlier levels must be completed before advancing to later ones.

Learning Mode 2 challenges students with jumbled letters. They must rearrange the letters to spell the called word correctly. Similar to Learning Mode 1, mistakes can be undone, and the word can be replayed by tapping the bee icon. Correct spelling is required to move forward and complete each level, with the option to retry any level.

Competition Mode adds an exciting twist by including extra letters among the jumbled ones. Students are timed as they spell 10 random words from each level's pool. The goal is to complete each level as quickly as possible, with times recorded on the leaderboard for all to see.

Students can reset the game from the Settings page and start anew. It's important to wait for a letter to finish being called before selecting the next one. Both students and parents can capture screenshots of the leaderboard to share with teachers.

The KCNK Little Bee Spelling App, sponsored by Grace Kennedy Money Services (GKMS) and Western Union (WU), was developed by Bazzle Amusement.
