CES 2025 has unveiled groundbreaking advancements in mobile gaming technology. A significant announcement is Krafton's introduction of the AI-driven "Co-Playable Character" (CPC), a new concept showcased on January 8th. This isn't your average NPC; it's a Non-Playable Character powered by generative AI, set to debut in both PUBG and inZOI.

inZOI's implementation, dubbed "Smart Zoi," promises emotionally nuanced and personalized AI companions, enhancing the simulation's realism.

PUBG's "PUBG Ally" will dynamically adapt its strategies to complement player actions, creating unpredictable and potentially thrilling gameplay. Whether this is a welcome addition or a cause for concern is entirely subjective.

Developed in collaboration with NVIDIA ACE, these CPCs will engage in real-time conversations, adapting their responses to the evolving game situation. “Our partnership with NVIDIA highlights the transformative power of AI in gaming. We're committed to pushing the boundaries of what's possible,” states Kangwook Lee, Head of Krafton's Deep Learning Division.
