Albion Online, the immersive medieval fantasy MMORPG developed by Sandbox Interactive, is gearing up for its highly anticipated update, Rogue Frontier, set to launch on February 3rd. This update marks the first major content drop of the year, and we've got all the juicy details to share with you.
What's Happening in the Outlands?
The Rogue Frontier update revolves around The Smugglers, a group of rebels tired of the Royal Continent's stringent regulations. They've established their presence in the lawless Outlands, setting up secret underground hideouts known as Smuggler's Dens. These dens serve as crucial hubs for banking, repairs, and planning your next adventure. They are interconnected through the Smuggler's Network, a sophisticated system that links marketplaces throughout the Outlands.
The Smugglers have formed their own Faction, locked in a perpetual struggle against the Royal Guards. Players can support the Smugglers by engaging in various activities, such as rescuing captured members or smuggling contraband hidden in Smuggler Crates.
Loyalty Has Its Perks in the Rogue Frontier Update of Albion Online
In the Rogue Frontier update, your loyalty to the Smugglers is rewarded by Maggy Slade, a mysterious trader found within the dens. Show your allegiance, and you could earn the exclusive Smuggler’s Vanity Set, the Smuggler’s Cape with a unique ability to reduce potion cooldowns, and the prestigious Smuggler’s Ring and Avatar.
The update introduces Kill Trophies, a new feature in Albion Online. These trophies drop when you defeat another player, with the quality of your opponent's loot increasing your chances of obtaining one.
Rogue Frontier also brings a range of stylish new weapons to the game. The Rotcaller Staff allows you to summon a chilling mist-spewing form that repels enemies. The Skystrider Bow grants the ability to levitate and unleash a rain of bolts from above. And the Forcepulse Bracers send shockwaves through your opponents as you dash into battle.
