Pokémon GO is launching an exciting new event called Sweet Discoveries, and it’s bringing the adorable Applin into the game for the very first time. If you're a fan of discovering rare Pokémon, evolving unique species, or hunting for shiny variants, this event is definitely one you won’t want to miss. Read on to learn everything you need to know about the Sweet Discoveries event.
When Is Applin Debuting in Pokémon GO?
The Sweet Discoveries event runs from April 24th at 10:00 a.m. to April 29th at 8:00 p.m. local time. The highlight of this event is the long-awaited debut of Applin, the Grass/Dragon-type Pokémon hailing from the Galar region.
To evolve Applin into its next forms, you'll need specific items:
- Evolving into Flapple requires 200 Applin Candies and 20 Tart Apples.
- Evolving into Appletun requires 200 Applin Candies and 20 Sweet Apples.
- To evolve Flapple further into Dipplin, you’ll eventually unlock its final evolution, Hydrapple.
Here's where strategy comes in: both Tart Apples and Sweet Apples will appear more frequently during the event. You can find them by interacting with certain objects in the wild—just tap on berries or trees and see what drops! Keep in mind that your chances of finding these apples increase around Mossy Lure Modules, so make sure to bring some along!
Did You Know?
Applin has a clever survival tactic—it lives entirely inside an apple to avoid predators like bird Pokémon. By staying hidden and mimicking a regular fruit, it stays safe. With its cute design and fascinating behavior, Applin quickly becomes a favorite among trainers.
As part of the event, brand-new avatar items will be available in the shop, including the Applin Headband and the Applin Apron—perfect for showing off your love for this charming Pokémon.
Event Bonuses & Features
- Double Candy when catching Pokémon during the event.
- Increased chance to encounter Shiny Delibird and Shiny Skwovet in the wild.
- Higher odds of hatching Shiny Delibird, Shiny Cherubi, and Shiny Skwovet from 7 km Eggs.
- Catching Delibird or Skwovet may reward you with various types of berries, adding another layer of fun to your gameplay.
