Developer FLINT announced on January 20th that ASTRA: Knights of Veda will remove English dubbing support on January 23rd, 2025. This change, implemented during regular maintenance, aims to improve game stability and enhance localization quality. German, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, and Italian language support will also be removed. Korean, English (text only), Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, French, Thai, and Russian will remain.

While English text will remain, in-game English voiceovers will be replaced with Japanese for players outside Korea. This change will not affect in-game chat functionality in any of the removed languages. FLINT assures players they are committed to providing better service and experiences.

Other Gacha Games That Removed English Voiceovers

ASTRA: Knights of Veda isn't alone in this decision. Several other gacha games have also reduced or removed English voice-over support. These include:

• War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius: Square Enix removed English voiceovers from new content starting May 2024, prioritizing Japanese for future updates. Existing content retains English dubbing.

These decisions often stem from prioritizing the language preferred by the majority of players or managing the significant ongoing costs of maintaining multiple language voiceovers. By reallocating resources, developers aim to ensure the long-term health and improvement of their games.
